Are you an emotional overeater?
Do you double up on dessert whenever you're down or reward yourself with chips at the end of a challenging day? If so, you may be an emotional overeater.

Emotional overeaters have a problem with weight management because food is closely tied to their ability to cope with their emotions. Thus, emotional overeaters tend to eat for reasons other than physical hunger, which of course leads to excess calorie intake.

We're all emotional eaters to some extent. It's nearly impossible not to be in a food orientated society, where eating is a part of celebrations and rituals, and a fundamental aspect of family life and interaction. But when is emotional eating a problem? Simply put, when it interferes with your health and happiness.

Take this quiz adapted from the American book, Fattitudes, to find out how much of your eating is emotionally-driven. Select the word that indicates how often these statements apply to you.
