1.
If asked to pin a title on me, my kids would most likely label me:
'The Helper'
'The Thinker'
'The Boss'
'The Talker'
2.
How do you react when others hurt your feelings?
If an apology is offered, I easily forgive and look for ways to restore harmony.
I give them the quiet and silent treatment - that usually drives them mad!
I am not afraid of rocking the boat, so I have no problem confronting the situation head-on.
I am typically emotional in my response.
3.
Even though they know better, the kids are hitting each other again. How do you respond to their behaviour?
I punish them by sending them to their rooms and letting them know that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.
Rather than demanding their compliance through punishment, I try to persuade them of the benefits of better behaviour.
I sit down with my children and rather than tell them how to behave, I let them come up with solutions to better behaviour on their own.
I quietly and calmly remind them of the rules - whether they follow them or not is another story.
4.
Whenever I'm stuck in morning traffic:
I rarely notice that there is traffic, since I'm quite a patient person.
I use the time for introspection or to organize my day in my mind, even if I have passengers.
My blood starts boiling, and I am quick to use the horn to get traffic moving again.
I try not to get too exasperated and instead occupy my time by chatting with my passengers or by making a phone call.
5.
How do you shop for clothes?
I prefer to take a friend along so that we can share fashion feedback and spend time together.
I carefully plan my purchases in advance and buy only what I really need.
I prefer to shop for new clothes on my own - that way I can get in and out as soon as possible.
Being a slave to fashion, I follow the latest trends and prefer designer labels.
6.
My friends would describe me as:
Strong, confident and decisive.
Fun-loving, expressive and outgoing.
Kind, calm and supportive.
Quiet, reflective and analytical.
7.
When it comes to watching sad films at the cinema:
I know I'll be blubbering, so I always have a box of tissues on hand, for myself and anyone else who needs one.
I don't like to cry in public, so I try to control my emotions.
I don't shed a tear - crying is for wimps.
I try to find the humour, even if it means laughing at the corny parts.
8.
What kind of games do you enjoy playing with your kids the most?
Charades and play-acting - we enjoy games that involve teams, relationships or group dynamics.
Scrabble or Monopoly - we like to play 'thinking' or board games.
I honestly don't have the time or the interest to play games with my kids.
Chasing or hide-and-seek - we prefer games that are active and physical.
