1. Your first challenge when you get into the office on Mondays is to:
Organise the post (yes, even the junk). It's impossible to focus properly on looming deadlines until you know you've dealt with the heap of letters and emails
Find your desk - an increasingly difficult feat given the avalanche of office clutter
Spend 10 minutes on a project that engrosses you, until you become distracted by another interesting project for 10 minutes, until you notice another project that engrosses you...
Decide which of the 15 important tasks you'll get done before midnight (or before the onset of your nervous breakdown - whichever comes first)

2. Your boss calls to announce that the firm's most important client is coming in for an impromptu meeting in an hour. Your reaction is:
'Is there a self-eject button in this office? I've got so many projects on, I can't remember which client is attached to this brief'
'I'm clued-up on my part of the meeting, but I'm not so sure about my colleagues? Are they ready? Will they say the right thing? I might check to be sure...'
'Hmm, think I'll just re-read the client file for the hundredth time, best to be prepared'
'I know that file is here somewhere, but first I have to find my desk'

3. At the official monthly staff lunch you:
Hastily scribble updates about the status of your projects so you'll be ready when it's your turn to speak - you just couldn't put your hands on the notes you made earlier
Occasionally tune out because you start thinking about the other tasks you have on your plate for that day - hey, you're a busy, working woman
Order lunch for everyone, copy and distribute notes from last time, decide on the topics you want to discuss and round everyone up at meeting time - organisation is definitely our motto
Have minutes on what was said and delegated at the last monthly meeting - this is sure to help everyone
